"We have spent three wonderful summer vacations at Gilmore Camps. Growing up in Michigan, my summers were spent on a beautiful lake. I wanted a place near our home in Maine that my children could experience the same things- hearing the lake lap against the shore, sitting on a quiet dock reading, learning to water ski and all the other joys of being out on a lake. Gilmore Camps has a rustic, yet gracious quality that beckons you to return. Tom Gilmore's personal passion for his summer retreat is evident in the care he takes with the cottages and grounds. Consider yourself lucky to have discovered Gilmore Camps."

A Typical Day at Gilmore Camps

Begin your mornings sipping coffee while watching the sun sparkle across the water. Though many guests never leave the beach, others spend their days hiking a nearby trail, exploring the lake by canoe, or taking a trip to the many surrounding sites.

Evening brings cookouts, good company, and maybe a game or two of pool or horseshoes before drifting to sleep with the hauntingly beautiful cries of loons echoing in the background.

As a guest of ours once wrote, "MAINE! The very name inspires a deeper breath and longing. While it is true that most travelers are satisfied with sophisticated centers, we find that the discriminating seek those nooks formed by encircling hills which supply a retreat, a solace, and a joy of living - such is Gilmore Camps."
