"After having such a wonderful time staying in the Lodge in Gilmore Camps, my daughter decided to write a short poem to give potential lodgers a taste of what Kezar Lake feels like. Here it is-
Imagine a place
To wake to a finch alarm clock,
Or sleep with a loon lullaby,
And have a serene lake
be your first sight of the day.
A place with no clock,
nor watch needed
because there are no appointments
to be made, or schedules
to follow.
To know it is dusk
when the bald eagles perch
Upon their magnificent pine throne
Or know it is dawn
when a doe steps trepidly past.
Canoeing on the mirrored waters
with fish jumping
and dragonflies whizzing by.
Sun bathe on the beach,
or enjoy a day of playing pool,
all on one beautiful campus
bordered by the majestic
White Mountains.
You may just want to pass the day
on your screened porch,
absorbing the perfect beauty
of the place without time."
