Did you have a good time at Gilmore Camps? Tell us and everybody else about it!

"We have just reserved The Lodge and both cottages for our second annual family vacation at Gilmore Camps. Our family can hardly wait ~ it certainly is the highlight of our summer. The lake is beautiful, and the houses are immaculate. We all have small children (from 5 months to 7 years old) and Gilmore Camps proves to be the perfect place for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.

The beach is beautiful and the property is huge, which is perfect for the little ones to run around safely. We will be back to the Gilmore Camps every summer for a very very long time! Thank you Tom and Debbie for providing your wonderful camp as our vacation!"

"We had been camping on the lake for the past 15 yrs and found it to be the nicest lake any where. The campground closed at the end of 2003. I found out about Gilmore Camps on line and we spent our 1st week there in 2004. It is a beautiful place to spend your vacation. The cottages are very nice and the Gilmore family knows how to treat their guests. If you are looking for a nice place to relax, swim, fish, and spend time with your family this is the place!"

"For our family, Gilmore Camps was love at first sight. While it goes without saying that Kezar Lake is a beautiful place to visit, Gilmore Camps offers even more. The physical accomodations provide everything you need to truly escape, relax and spend time with family. But it's the vibe (for lack of a better word) that's even more profound. The place has a magical quality, helped in large part by Tom Gilmore's obvious love and care. It almost shimmers. Oh yes, we'll be back for as long and as often as possible."

"Rarely does reality quite live up to ones attempts to recreate precious memories of childhood but that is precisely what my son and I attempted this summer. We wanted to pass on to his children some of the joyous times he and I both spent as children on Canandaigua Lake in N.Y. I am happy to tell you that our week at Gilmore Camps not only met but far surpassed anything we could have possibily dreamed of. Much of this is thanks to Tom Gilmore and the beautiful place he so lovingly and carefully cares for and shares with others. It is just a gorgeous site and perfect marriage of camp and comfort. I could go on and on but will end by saying that I hope to make a week at Gilmore Camps an annual event and encompass even more of my family."

"David and I as Sacred Winds performed at a wedding held at your camp on Sept 26th, 2009. When we arrived, not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised at the beauty we found there. The peace and tranquility was wonderful. We were hired by Rose and Rene, who also told us how much they loved your camp. It was easy to see why. Thank you for keeping the natural beauty of the landscape, enhanced by what you have done. Hopefully in the future we will be able to visit again."

"I have been going to Kezar Lake for about 3 years, and I don't think I could live without it every year! You should definitely check it out, I recommend it!"

"After having such a wonderful time staying in the Lodge in Gilmore Camps, my daughter decided to write a short poem to give potential lodgers a taste of what Kezar Lake feels like. Here it is-

Imagine a place
To wake to a finch alarm clock,
Or sleep with a loon lullaby,
And have a serene lake
be your first sight of the day.

A place with no clock,
nor watch needed
because there are no appointments
to be made, or schedules
to follow.

To know it is dusk
when the bald eagles perch
Upon their magnificent pine throne
Or know it is dawn
when a doe steps trepidly past.

Canoeing on the mirrored waters
with fish jumping
and dragonflies whizzing by.

Sun bathe on the beach,
or enjoy a day of playing pool,
all on one beautiful campus
bordered by the majestic
White Mountains.

You may just want to pass the day
on your screened porch,
absorbing the perfect beauty
of the place without time."

"This was our 4th year visiting Gilmore Camps and they just keep getting better. The weather we had this week was by far the worst we've had yet but it didn't really matter. With the Lake at our front door we were able to jump in and cool off between the rain showers. The four kids, ages 9 months to 5 years, had a blast and we'll definitely be back next year - Rain or shine!"

"As a small child I started coming to Lovell to visit with family, and every summer day wanted to be in Kezar. I learned to golf with my aunt at the golf course, and hiked a lot in the woods and mountains. After my wife and I spent a week each year for a few years at the Maine shore, swimming in the frigid Atlantic, we decided to look into lake rentals. We couldn't be happier that we tried so hard for Kezar and found Gilmore Camps early on. Our kids love the place, and so do we. Every guest we've had during our stays there has also been blown away by the peace, quiet and beauty of it. Thanks to you Tom, and your family, for making the place so friendly! I find it hard to believe anyone could render a negative comment..."

"We have spent three wonderful summer vacations at Gilmore Camps. Growing up in Michigan, my summers were spent on a beautiful lake. I wanted a place near our home in Maine that my children could experience the same things- hearing the lake lap against the shore, sitting on a quiet dock reading, learning to water ski and all the other joys of being out on a lake. Gilmore Camps has a rustic, yet gracious quality that beckons you to return. Tom Gilmore's personal passion for his summer retreat is evident in the care he takes with the cottages and grounds. Consider yourself lucky to have discovered Gilmore Camps."

"It's a pleasure to offer to others the fun times had at Gilmore Camps. We are a family of 4 who bacame good friends through our teenage daughters, with a family that had been vacationing at Gilmore Camps for a few years when we decided to join them. We had the best time ever! The accommodations were great, the water breathtaking, especially at sunrise & sunset! The loons... add to the Steven King effect, whom we ran into in town 3 times, I must add!

Good times were had by all, children and adults. In fact, about 6 years later, teens now grown, we 2 families will again meet in the woods, by the lake. A beautiful spot, rain or shine (as long as Bob brings his guitar and Tommy his voice and side splitting dance moves).

Looking forward to our annual get together again this August! See you then."

"We came to Gilmore Camps years ago with our three children. We loved it so much we came for 5 more summers. Times changed and we became too busy as our children grew. Those same children decided their children should have the same wonderful memories as they have. For our 45th wedding anniversary we returned with the expanded family, including 5 grand children. We found it as magical as we had years ago. We'll be there again this summer.  Thank you for enriching our lives."
Caroline Shelley, South Russell, OH
"We spent a week in the Lakehouse and had a wonderful time. One side of the house looks out over gorgeous Kezar Lake and the over the extensive lawns. The beach is virtually steps away. The kids loved the swimming platform and kayaks. (The water is clean and warm). The Gilmore's have thought of everything (from washing machines, to beach chairs, life jackets, and a gas grill) and were most gracious hosts. Great vacation."
Beverly Wood, Marin, CA
"What a wonderfully, relaxing atmosphere. It was a peaceful spot on the lake. Little to no boat traffic and cottages were far enough away from each other to give you a sense of privacy. The owners were very cordial and welcoming. The pool house was a bonus as we brought three 17-20 year old young men with us which they enjoyed. Plenty to occupy young children as well."
Robyn Bonitz, Brooklyn, CT
"It's just the right size - not too many other people, but not just us all alone. Tom's priorities for the camp are all in their proper places (e.g., no TVs, improved dock, kitchen renovations). The area is wonderful. It's just a great camp run by wonderful people in a beautiful location."

"Friends told us about Kezar Lake and I found your camp on the web. It looked okay -- but was I wrong...it was fantastic! Mr. Gilmore is an attentive -- but not too attentive -- welcoming host. The Birches were big, and clean and private. Now we're hooked."

"Kezar Lake is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth and Gilmore Camps is among the most inviting. The gracious hosts make everyone feel at home. The peaceful setting, the incredible views, and the wonderful people make it difficult to imagine spending our summer vacation anywhere else."

"Gilmore Camps is a great place for families with kids. The lake is very shallow and young children can easily play in it. The beach is wonderful. There are fun things to do in the area. Last but not least, Tom Gilmore is a wonderful host."

"Tom, just wanted to let you know that--in case you couldn't tell--we had a great week at Gilmore Camps. To be honest, I think there was some trepidation prior to the trip that our memories could not be improved upon. But I would say they were at least equalled and now form the foundation for new memories. Continuity is rare in today's changing world and it's nice to know that at least one place--Gilmore Camps--has maintained the same magic it's always had.
